Hi, I'm Stanley Zale, Stuller's Merchandising Vice President of Diamonds and Gemstones.  As a leader in the jewelry industry, Stuller continuously seeks out new avenues to improve our processes and quality control to bring only the best to our customers.  This dedication to excellence has made us a De Beers site holder since 2005, and now, one of only two companies in the United States to begin using De Beers’ new Automated Melee Screening Device. This innovative new system screens round brilliant diamonds from 1.4mm up to 20 points, separating out possible synthetics and diamond simulants. With the capacity to screen up to 500 carats at a time, the AMS offers a quick and reliable way to ensure the integrity of our melee selection.
The machine processes one stone at a time, at a rate of 10 seconds per stone.  Using laser detection, it can accurately determine whether or not a stone is a diamond, and if it is possibly synthetic.

Then it simply places the stone in one of the labeled trays.  By incorporating this new technology, Stuller is able to further improve our processes, and offer yet another way to provide our customers the trust, confidence, and security they want when buying diamonds.
