We've really been on a wellness journey for about four years now and this recognizes all of the hard work and effort of all of our employee. Wellness journeys might start with something as simple as an orange then expand to apples or perhaps bananas as well but a true wellness journey is about way more than just eating healthy. Two weeks ago Stuller was recognized for steps taken and benchmarks reached in creating a workplace that is healthy.  As of January 6, 2017 Stuller is a level one well spot.  That means that Stuller has made a full commitment to their employees and promoting health and wellness options throughout the entire organization.

Well Ahead Louisiana was a recognizer so to speak recognizing of all the healthy goodness that is now available for Stuller employees. It means we're paying attention to health and well-being of our associates as well as ourselves. Stronger team members can choose more nutritional foods during lunches or breaks and instead of the traditional vending options you can get valid vending options and Stuller team members can turn its 600,000 square foot facility into a walking track. We have lots of space so lot more people are walking down the halls on brakes and Stuller team members who are new mothers can take advantage of the all-important nursing rooms so we try to make the rooms really comfortable and we got some comfortable chairs and hospital-grade pumps and a refrigerator so we've had a lot of positive feedback about that. And there's even more. The number of Stuller Inc. employees participating in area 5k runs has quadrupled. We used to average 15 to 25 people a race and this year we've averaged 70 to 100.  A clean air facility? You bet. Stuller Inc is now tobacco-free. So we'll look at a tobacco-free campus where employees can come and go and not be exposed to secondhand smoke. Stuller also has a telemedicine clinic on site for flu shots, small conditions and well checks.  They can go on their break for lunch and get seen quickly by the doctor. We actually have a local pharmacy that delivers prescriptions here so it's really a convenience factor there's no excuses for not getting your well check anymore.   On this celebration of its wellspot designation Stuller employees were also able to register for fitness-related prizes and giveaways. So it's clear the leader in jewelry manufacturing isn't going to take a backseat to anyone when it comes to health and wellness either. Congratulations to Stuller Inc, Level 1 Wellspot.  A leader by example and a local company embracing and enjoying its wellness journey. I would say get your leadership involved, get them sharing your message and it takes a while. Don't give up, enjoy the ride because at the end it's a great outcome.
