Hi my name is Kristi. I want to share with you today this wonderful resource. It's a book about jewelry craftsmanship. It's an excellent source of information. From a bench person, to sales, to communicating well with your sales staff, your management and your customers. This guide shows correct procedures and possible complications that could arise when you're doing say repair. It helps to give that visual to your customer or to better explain what type of repair needs to be done to your piece of jewelry. They'll have a better understanding of what's all involved in repairing their piece. It's got wonderful illustrations throughout the book. For instance there's a section on stone setting. This will help you review say you have a new employee and they don't really understand what prongs do when holding the stone. Well it gives a visual and explains what exactly a prong should or should not look like, like prong thin at the top, that's a potential hazard of metal wear. In the fabrication and assembly area, it shows you potential actual ring remount problems such as improper placement of the heads that are assembled onto the ring. It helps you to communicate with your customer and gives them a visual of what it should and should not look like. The casting section shows potential or actual casting related problems such as too thin or too lightweight. It shows porosity, cracks, casting skin, issues that could occur when casting metals. There's a section on applied finishing styles that shows cross patterns Florentine, just different applications that can be applied. Potential problems with these types of finishes, whether it's worn unevenly or the finishes faded away or it's unprofessionally done. This is a wonderful resource like I said it will help open up that communication so that your customers can better understand what's all involved in repairing jewelry. Jewelry is a craft and this is an awesome resource. For this resource or many other resources we have available here at Stuller contact our tech team or go to Stuller.com/tools.
