Learn how to get your Rofin
laser welder
up and running.
Video Transcript
When you first get the machine you will need to do three things. First you will need to put the water in the machine. Take off the back panel by pulling up and out on it. Be aware that there are ground wires attached to every panel on the welder. Squeeze it and pull it off. Pull out the plug, insert the funnel, and fill up the water up to the max level. The Rofin welders require you to fill it with either deionized or distilled water. The water tank for the performance welder is on the left side.
Now you can plug in the power and the foot pedal. Turn on the machine by turning the red knob and the key to the up position. Wait until the touch screen shows the yellow lightning bolt, the yellow hand, and the red lightning bolt. Then you can turn the key a little more like starting a car to start the simmer on the welder. Let the machine run for 30 minutes and fill the water tank back up to the fill line. Reattach the ground wire and replace the back panel.
To put the microscope on, take off the plastic cover, place the half rings around the base of the microscope, turn the microscope over, and push it into the welder. Use the allen wrench to tighten the scope onto the welder. Using argon is optional. To hook it up to the welder attach the red hose. The other end will fit into the fittings that were sent with the instruction manual. The threads are metrics so we carry a kit that allows these fittings to attach it to your tank.
