For your convenience, Stuller sells this pre-mixed electrolyte solution. This acts as a flux for soldering. Without it, the temperature of the flame would be too high.
The flux — a mixture of methyl alcohol and boric acid — lowers the temperature and increases the BTU value of the flame. Plus, the boric acid in the mixture protects the part being soldered from excessive fire scale.
