Meet Our Experts
Kristi Broussard
Master stone setter and experienced laser welder technician Kristi Broussard helps customers solve tools-related challenges and vets tools for inclusion in the Stuller product line. Kristi is the go-to resource for questions on soldering and stone setting tools and techniques at Stuller. With more than two decades of experience working with laser welders, Kristi is also one of Stuller’s top laser welder technicians. She is an in-demand demonstrator at trade shows across the country. Kristi has been sharing her talent and experience through teaching classes designed for Stuller customers.
Carla Gaspard
In her many years at Stuller working in production, stone setting, and quality assurance, Carla Gaspard has learned the ins and outs of laser welding, soldering, and stone setting. In her current role as a learning and development facilitator, Carla enjoys sharing the knowledge and skills she has acquired with Stuller’s employees and customers, hearing their stories, and making sure they have the tools and skills they need to succeed.

Soldering Training
October 14–18, 2024
Soldering is one of the fundamental skills of successful bench jewelers. Our five-day classes are taught by master instructors and will place you on the path to success as you gain hands-on experience. Basic skills that are covered include resizing rings, assembling heads to shanks, retipping prongs, assembling earrings, and assembling jump rings to various jewelry components. You’ll gain experience using tools and equipment such as hand torches, saw blades, hammers, mandrels, various chemicals, and more.
Introduction to Stone Setting
July 29–August 2, 2024 and September 16–20, 2024
Get started with stone setting or brush up on the basics by taking this beginner’s class. You’ll get instruction and coaching in four of the most in-demand setting types: four-prong round, six-prong round, three-stone, and pinpoint. In addition to fundamental instruction in each of these setting types, you’ll also learn general rules of thumb and guidance about specific setting scenarios, tools, and challenges.
Intermediate Stone Setting
August 5–9, 2024
In this class, you’ll learn to set fancy stones — square, marquise, pear, emerald, and oval — in prong settings. Basic course work must be completed prior to registering for this training.
Basic Laser Welder Training
September 11–12, 2024
Learn the installation process, parameters, settings, and the relationship between different metals and metal types when it comes to working with laser welders. You’ll also gain an understanding of proper safety operations and preventative maintenance.
